Palworld is closing in on a million concurrent players after 1.0

The 956,613-player peak from launch weekend two isn't fading: Pocketpair kept the game at $29.99 instead of using the 1.0 release to raise the price.

Two years after its early access launch, Palworld keeps surprising everyone. The 1.0 release in July pushed the game to 956,613 concurrent players on its second weekend — a record for the title since its early access peak back in January 2024.

A much slower drop-off than expected

On August 2, the daily peak still stood at 601,637 players, a slight 0.74% increase over the previous day. Total players across all platforms have now topped 40 million.

The decision that changed everything: no price hike

Pocketpair kept Palworld at $29.99 for the 1.0 launch instead of using the milestone to raise the price. That call appears to have directly fueled a wave of returning players, rather than a one-off spike of impulse buys.

Palworld is now cited among the fastest-growing games on Steam, well ahead of far more recent releases.

That's enough to shake up our TOP 20 most-played games ranking, where the title climbs sharply this month.
